We aren’t just human beings,

We were born; we came out the womb as kings,

From birth we ruled,

This is to those who knew, loved and lived with us

To our mothers who put up with us,

Our siblings who indulged us,

Our fathers who challenged us,

And our friends, who grew with us,

The only thing we feared was God above,

And our families and friends were the only things we loved,

We died for our kids and lived for ourselves,

We didn’t know anything else,

And on that day,

When we’re forever gone

Immortalize our names in a joyous song,

Throw up roses,

As the procession creeps along,

And when we reach our resting place,

Honor us as fearless and brave,
